Another Inceless Book Club last night- also no Johnny Candon. Both of which were a shame. But nice to see the night in its normal home, an overheated cellar. Josie Long and Chris Neill were excellent comperes, and Isy Suttie was a good addition, both on her own and as "Safer Sounds" with Martin White- doing songs about how to be safe in a fire and on a plane. Also liked White and co.s cover of a pop song with accordion, tuba and mandolin, and the John Cage 4'33" tribute song. Peter Buckley Hill (of the fluffy white hair) was good too. Not as much poetry as before- Faultless and Torrance did a bit. Liked their Jane Eyre sketches ("A man, brooding. A muddy fireplace"), the scarf-winding display and waiting around until their ten minutes were finished to leave- they didn't get as many laughs as I think they deserved, but there y'go. Martine McCutcheon's autobiog holds up well to rereading...
Got back v late, not enough sleep.
Oh shit, still got rather too much to do for one day.
Mem. for Friday morning: Bring in documents that need leaving behind, pick up photos, buy chocolates, practice "oh what a nice surprise" smile.
Friday lunchtime: do not take advantage of last helpdesk shift to kill anyone.
Friday evening: do not drink too much, suitcases will need packing when I get home.
